Offended-Kenneth Pobo

Just at the moment when we’re
kissing deeply
and I slide my tongue to your nipples
a politician enters the room
where we had been watching a rerun
of The Farmer’s Daughter
until we got hot and says

Stop this at once.
I’m offended.
God is offended.

He doesn’t leave,
keeps watching. And breathing
heavily.

Kenneth Pobo had a chapbook out in 2011 from Green FusePress called Contralto Crows. He has work forthcoming in: FeatherLit,OccuPoetry,
Poem, Alabama Literary Review, and elsewhere.
